Author’s note
Tahquitz Canyon is one of the most beautiful and culturally sensitive areas of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians Reservation. Tahquitz Canyon is home to a spectacular seasonal 60-foot waterfall, Tahquitz Falls, that I have depicted in this painting from several reference pictures. There were several mysterious features recurring in all of the reference pictures that I aimed to capture- two faces, two triangles, a scorpion and a smiley face. Can’t find them all? Run a blue/UV light over the paining and they will reveal themselves to you.
